Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know which program is right for my child?

A: The programs are distinct by the year of the player's birth:

  • 2018 and 2019 - Super Soccer Stars - 4:00pm-5:00pm
  • 2016 and 2017 - Summer Development Program - 5:00pm-6:00pm
  • 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 - Summer Development Program - 6:00pm-7:00pm
  • 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 - Middle School/High School Camp - 7:00pm-8:00pm

Q: What if we can't make a session or a week of sessions?

A: The programs are designed and priced to be flexible for hectic summer schedules. Come when you're in town and skip when you're not, all for a price that's comparable to what other programs charge for just one week.

Q: Why does the program skip July 16th - July 18th?

A: That week, Rumson Recreation is holding the Bulldog Soccer Camp run by the RFH Boys High School Soccer Coach, Jeff Soares. Rather than make you choose between two great programs, we're giving space to attend that program: register here.

Q: Can we sign up for a different program so my child can play with friends or teammates?

A: In short, no. Players must sign-up by their birth year, which is the standard way of breaking up age levels for both US and International Soccer. The trainers will then break up the sessions into smaller groups based on ability and skill level, to ensure all players are training together with other players of similar ability/experience. The program is intentionally designed to broaden player's experience beyond their grade and friend groups.

Q: What if it rains or is too hot?

A: Player safety is paramount, so we will watch the forecast, looking for thunderstorms, rain, or extreme heat. Sessions will be cancelled when conditions warrant and parents will be notified via TeamSnap and email updates. Unless an excessive number occur, cancelled sessions will not be made up.

Q: What should players bring to sessions?

A: Players should come with a full water bottle, wearing cleats, shin-guards, and comfortable clothes.

Q: Who are FC Monmouth?

A: FC Monmouth is a men's soccer team representing Monmouth County, NJ. Founded in 2010, the team plays in the nationwide, semi-professional National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The FC Monmouth Community program is committed to making US Soccer better than ever at all ages and levels.

Q: Who are Super Soccer Stars?

A: At Super Soccer Stars, we are committed to keeping your kids engaged, active, and healthy in any environment. Our specially designed, age-specific curricula helps develop skills, teamwork, and builds self-confidence in every child.
